Starting a gain while satisfied with your body.

So I'm curious about gaining weight. I'm skinny myself, though I find the thought of having my own round, jiggly belly interesting. At the same time, I am satisfied with how my body is now, and worry that if I decide to gain, only to end up not liking it, that I will not be able to lose the weight. Who else been in a predicament like mine, and what advice do you have for someone like me?

I am in the same situation as you. I have been fit my whole life, never even a little bit overweight, but I have always had this fetish. I have intentionally gone from 132 pounds (at 5'6"smiley to 156 in the past three years and I did it by setting very small goals, just five pounds at a time and telling myself that I can easily lose it if I don't like it. If you start out fit, you will have no problem losing five pounds. So if you gain five pounds and you like it, just tell yourself that you'll gain five more pounds and if you don't like it you can easily lose it. This way, you will never be more than five pounds away from a comfortable weight, but over time you'll start to grow that round, jiggly belly that sounds so sexy! I do recommend trying it. I used to have a six pack and I love the doughy little starter belly that I have coming in now! I feel very satisfied with my body when it's hard as well as when it's softer, I just feel sexier with more curves.

I was satisfied with my weight when I was super thin! I always fantasized about gaining and when I accidentally put on ten pounds I found that I liked the extra weight more than my previous weight :]
I would advise you test it out!

I was at a "perfect" weight, I felt very good about my body because of what society says, etc. I eventually gave in to the curiosity and allowed myself 5 lbs at a time for a while, like others have said.

I noticed the effects of the "one step at a time" approach, about 20 lbs in. Your first real choice is somewhere around there. Everything until then is definitely reversible, quite easily.

When clothes that you've worn for a while start to get tight though, do you make a plan to stop overindulging and maybe get some cardio? Or.. do you buy the next size up, knowing that leaves you some room to grow?

Slippery slope, someone told me before I got fat that there was no off switch once you start to allow it. I didn't believe it at first, yet during none of my reevaluations as I've gained, do I feel like I want to lose weight at all. Funny how that works, lol

That slippery slope aspect does have a bit of an appeal to it though lol. I've been thinking I might do another 30 day gaining challenge myself, but promise myself not to hold back at times like I did on my last one (if I'm thinking of resisting the urge to eat something fattening, I'll make sure I have into the urge and maybe eat something extra lol).

Well that's dumb. The reason you ended up holding back is that you made yourself sick. If you decided to do that again without holding back, you'll either end up going to the ER or having to tap out earlier than your challenge.

Oh no, I'm not talking about when I was overdoing it to where I felt sick. I'm talking about days where I felt fine, but held back and didn't eat that much at all.

That's good. I was concerned. But based on what I've been seeing you talk about for months now, I think it would be better for you to focus on your relationship with food and your weight.

I've noticed that you are a very all-or-nothing kind of guy. Either you go balls to the walls, or you are more demure. Why don't you focus on finding a middle ground that works for you? Don't deny yourself food, but don't force it either.

Some people fantasize about gaining for years. Then one day they just don't want to put it off any longer. They jump right in with both feet and start eating a lot more and gaining.

They don't always know why they started when they did. I suspect it's because they got inspired somehow, by seeing others people gain or something like that. Or it maybe something changes so they're no longer bothered by what other people think. This last one often happens when they move to a different place, somewhere they don't know anyone.

It seems like they're always happy about their decision, but of course if they weren't they'd be unlikely to talk to me about it.
